Cognacs are eau de vie, water of life in French, distilled from grapes grown in on of the six cognac produciong districts of the Charente area fo France. Kelt's eaux de vie are produced from grapes grown in the finest of these districts: the Grande Champagne. This region has wet winter, sunny summers, and the most compact, chalky soil.
