Bridgeview Wines crafts Their wine using a mixture of French (90%) and American (10%) oak barrels for our award winning Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Merlot. Our other wines are fermented and stored in jacketed, cooled stainless tanks, which range in size from 2,000 to 20,000 gallons. This allows us to keep a fresh, fruity quality to the wines, and enables us to preserve the refreshing acidity that you will find in wines from Southern Oregon.

Bridgeview's vineyards reflect the family's German heritage. The estate vineyard is densely planted in the European style of six-foot row and four-foot vine spacing to Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Müller Thurgau, Muscat, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, and Riesling. In 1998 Bridgeview added an 80-acre vineyard located in the Applegate Valley planted to Merlot and other Bordeaux varietals. The Applegate Valley recently has been approved Oregon's sixth appellation and is known for its deep, well-drained soils, warm days and cool nights well-suited, for the Merlot and other Bordeaux varietals Bridgeview has planted there.

Almost all of the grapes for Bridgeview wines are grown in the 85-acre estate vineyards in the Illinois Valley and the 80-acre vineyard located in the Applegate Valley. The rocky soils of the vineyards lend distinctively delicious aromas and flavors to the grapes. Meticulous attention to pruning insures that each vine produces fewer grapes with correspondingly greater varietal character. Every aspect of the vineyard operation, in fact, is carefully managed from planting to harvest to encourage flavor intensity.
